How Artificial Intelligence Makes Our Life Easier by Humanizing Technology

We all know the famous Iron Man and his computer Jarvis. Even though it is a science fiction, just imagine if this becomes reality. When most of us hear the term artificial intelligence, we think of something extra-terrestrial or a thing that does not belong to our world. Due to the advancement in the artificial intelligence software development, we are forming a relationship with the technology. We are using intelligent technologies in household activities, teaching, corporate training, and business and so on.

A latest discovery in the AI domain has decreased the chances of human error. We all know, humans are prone to errors. Machines (unless any malfunctioning) do not make mistakes. An increase in the discoveries of various algorithms and their implementations on a system provided relief to the human beings. In this article, we will see how artificial intelligence makes our life easier by humanizing technology. By humanizing means giving the machine intelligence more like humans.

Let us see how artificial intelligence is making our life easier:

1.      Advanced Face Recognition system

I have used software that can recognize my face and provide login to the laptop. Isn't it very cool? Instead of typing a password in your system, just put your face before the computer and get access to your system. Nobody else can enter your computer, means complete security. 

Even password protection was good, but can be cracked by simple methods like brute force or by using Live Operating Systems. Due to the advancement in the image recognition system or face recognition algorithm, such vulnerabilities are prevented.

As we know, every person, unless they are identical twins, have different faces. Hence such use of image recognition technology will help in identifying the unique person. Now-a-days, many security agencies, social sites, government offices and some private companies are using image recognition system for identifying the person

2.      Mobile Phone is becoming smarter

Now, many mobile phones are using a virtual assistant. Just speak what you want to do and get it done with the help of a virtual assistant. Just imagine, your mobile phone having a "Jarvis" installed and will perform the task according to you.

The main thing to consider: artificial intelligence is offering the technologies which work like a human. Your mobile phones are just a start, what will come next nobody can predict. 

3.      Dictation to your machine

I had used Windows Speech Recognition system in my computer. It was amazing experience of talking to my computer. You have to train the voice recognition system and just speak to it. The system will write or perform tasks, you want it to perform.


Voice recognition will help in converting spoken sound to written words. Such system just writes when offered some spoken words, like dictation. Users don't have to type words, they have to speak to the system and it will write for you.

Even though this system isn't fully developed, but the artificial intelligence researchers are doing their best to advance the system

Advancement in the voice recognition system will revolutionize the world of machines. Only speak to the system and get your work done in a specific time.

4.      Online Shopping

I wonder while doing online shopping on the site, the list of products appearing on my screen where all of my interest.  I haven't searched for anything; still the list contains items I wanted to search for. There was a question in my mind "How the website comes to know what I want?" 

The website acted as if it is human. Later, I came to know about the artificial intelligence algorithms used in developing such sites. It was an amazing experience while shopping online because the site was serving items of my interest.

Advancement in this system can change the world of E-Commerce. The automatic change in the rates of the product can encourage the customer to buy more from the site.

5.      Security surveillance system

Video cameras are installed in shops and even in houses to get protection from thieves. Still, thefts are reported and in cameras found nothing.

Now, artificial intelligence powered video surveillance has reduced such reporting to some extent. These latest cameras can automatically detect anything unusual is happening and takes the decision to report it to the security in-charge.


It's wonderful to know how artificial intelligence is helping in securing your houses or shops. Such systems can prove beneficial on the roads. There will be fewer casualties on roads due to the use of such systems.

6.      Self-driving Cars

Around the world, we hear about accidents and human casualties. In avoiding such horrible situations, a self-driving car was discovered.

The car can drive safely, just feed the path where you want to go. The path is pre-programmed in system installed in the car and it will safely take you the required destination. 

Still, there are some ethics to be installed in the computer of the car. Hopefully, in future, we just have to sit and let the car drive on its own.

7.      Household Robots

 I have seen videos of household robots which can do all the household chores. The robot was cleaning house and cooking food. It's a good news for the housewife. Such programmed robots can be re-programmed to do anything. They can be used in offices as well.

8.      Robots programmed to write


The robot is programmed to copy and write like a human. Children having writing disability, called as Dysgraphia, will be benefited from this robot. What you have to do is feed the robot with different handwritings.

Just image, the world where no child will have the disability of writing. This can become true if such robots are used everywhere.

9.      Solar Flares Detection system

I had heard the news of devastating solar storms the previous year. The flares originated from the sun create a great havoc on the Earth. Scientists has discovered a machine learning method which can predict the different parameters of the flare, just by knowing its origin. 

Such systems have provided comfort and accuracy in the prediction of dangerous flares that hamper the life on Earth. We can also use such systems to predict the horrible earthquakes and tsunamis. This can prevent many casualties and help humans.

Here I have mentioned few uses and prove that how artificial intelligence makes our life easier by humanizing technology. You can find more as there are many to be discovered.

Now Children Learning How to Write by Teaching Robots

Artificial Intelligence is truly an awesome field. One cannot predict what is going to happen next. Researchers were in search of such machine that would help children in writing and creating sentences. Finally, they have succeeded in their work. Recently, a robot is created which observes and write exactly what is perceived. While the robot is writing, the children observe, try to make changes in what machine wrote and ultimately learn to write. This teaching and learning process is bi-directional. Robot writes and kids correct it. While children are correcting the robot learns the technique and next time act accordingly.

Children having difficulty in writing are getting benefited by this new robot. It is really a fun teaching robot which is finally helping the children in learning to write. The machine is programmed such that, it perceives the words and reproduces them like human handwriting. Children are asked to watch the robot and then correct what it writes. The main intention behind developing the machine is providing a tool for teachers that would assist them to teach children how to write.

How the complete process is carried out?

In machine learning, the system should be fed with information. So, in the experiment, scientists used a database containing a huge set of handwriting examples. This helped the robot to identify the words and correctly predict it and writes on the screen. The main target of the researcher was to make a peer that can learn and who knows less than a below average student. When it comes to learning, the robot should learn from the mistakes and those errors are pointed out by the students.

Approximately, the size of the robot is 1 foot and 11 inches. Researchers have generated a progressive writing algorithm and implemented on the humanoid. The algorithm is designed in such a way that it learns from perceiving the letters of the word and reproduce them like human. Kids placed some plastic alphabets, that created some meaningful word and the robot copied it on the screen. Later on, children have to verify whether the written words are correct or not. Words which are incorrect, the kids have to correct it and again the robot learns those corrected words. Finally, this cross checking helps children learn how to write.


Artificial Intelligence always proved useful to the humans. As discussed, the robot made by the researchers has the ability to learn from the mistakes that are pointed out by the children. Understanding of mistakes by the robot, assists the students in learning how to write.

This is the awesome use of artificial intelligence which helps the students, who cannot understand the words. Children suffering from dysgraphia can get benefited from the implementation of such robots. Finally, New generation robot, helps to prove artificial intelligence is always beneficial to humans.

Latest Machine Learning Algorithm Help Astronomers With Research

All kids have a habit of gazing at the stars and other celestial bodies like the sun and the moon. Stars, always remain a center of wonder for humans. The field that study stars and other celestial bodies is, astronomy and the people related to the domain are called as astronomers. Stargazers always study about the celestial bodies and try to predict their size, shape, weight and other measurable factors. Sometimes, they get success, but not always. Astronomers got relief from the discovery of the latest machine learning algorithm.

Now astronomers are taking help from the machine in the sky survey. The algorithm assists in studying the basic properties of the celestial bodies. Instead of studying the properties by spectroscopy, system uses an algorithm to quickly identify the several factors. Although, machine learning was used before for the study of the cosmos, but the latest algorithm is unique as it predicts specific factors related to stars. This is a unique way of studying the star. What one has to do is just keeping a watch on the results obtained by the machine. 

How the whole process works?

Machine learning requires an enormous amount of data to be fed to the system. Even the algorithm requires a huge database for the storage purpose. Before the final working, the machine must be trained.

For the training, the researchers used the data of 9000 stars, which include information about variable brightness and spectra. All this data was recorded by Sloan Digital Sky Survey into a supercomputer. From the star, scientists have obtained spectra which disclosed several basic properties of the star like temperature, size and the quantity of heavy metals like iron. The variation in brightness of the star was recorded by plotting light curves. Feeding these sets of information to the computer, the system made the link between the light curves and the rest of the star properties to obtain the result.

The result obtained is the prediction of the newly discovered star's physical properties. The system was able to predict on the basis of the data previously fed into it. The technique used is similar to the filter used for avoiding spam email. The filters are provided with the keywords that are associated with the junk mail and removing the mails containing those words. As the time passes, the filter learns more keywords taught by the user and performs better than the previous. Next time, if the system finds the junk mail, it filters it better and learns more words again.

In the same way, the algorithm prepared by the researcher learns from the new data entries and performs predictions better than before.

Artificial Intelligence is helpful to mankind in many forms and example is mentioned in the article. You can see that machine learning can change the way research and help humans predict many things. Not just about stars, but we can predict anything. Star prediction algorithm assists astronomers in their research and predict the accurate dimensions and physical quantities of the star. Humans are prone to errors, but the machine work according to the algorithms and are less prone to mistakes.

In machine learning, the system learns automatically from its previous experiences and improves the performance from better to the best. Researchers have fixed their next goal to 50 million variable stars at a time. Ultimately, this proves that artificial intelligence, in the form of machine learning is helpful in research fields and can help to get more perfect results for the problem.
